Civil wars, terrorism, refugees, external intervention - it fills the news from the Middle East. Professor Eytan Gilboa will share his view of these events in terms of the security and well-being of the region, the US, and Europe - including an historical, cultural, and religious context.


About our speaker:

Professor Gilboa is a renowned expert on international communication and US policy in the Middle East. He is the chair of the Israel Communication Association, chair and academic director of the Israel Public Diplomacy Forum, and visiting professor of public diplomacy at the University of Southern California. He was professor of political science and communication at Bar-Ilan University in Israel, founded the School of Communication and the Center for International Communication, and served as the first director of both.

The professor has published numerous books, articles, and book chapters and has won many international fellowships and awards. He has been a visiting professor in numerous leading American and European universities and a sought-after senior research fellow at several prestigious public policy centers. He served as consultant to the Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministries of Defense and Foreign Affairs, academic director of International Studies at the National Defense College, and chair of the Foreign Service Selection Committee. Currently, Professor Gilboa contributes op-ed articles to Israeli and international newspapers and is a radio and television commentator. Website: ipdforum.org.
