The Metropolitan Breakfast Club is dedicated to providing a positive, harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of attendees in any form. Attendees include speakers, guests, members and staff. We expect all participants to follow these rules at all Metropolitan Breakfast Club events and event-related social activities.
Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any event, including talks. Harassment includes offensive verbal comments, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, unwanted photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.
Attendees asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.
If a participant engages in harassing behavior, board members retain the right to take any actions to maintain a welcoming environment for all attendees. This includes, and is not limited to, warning the offender, expulsion from the event with no refund and cancellation of membership. Board members may take action to address anything intended to, or with the clear impact of, disrupting the event or making the environment hostile for any attendee.
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, we strongly encourage you to report it immediately so that the situation can be addressed as soon as possible. You can report it to a Board Member of the Metropolitan Breakfast Club or to the contact listed below. Metropolitan Breakfast Club Board Members can be identified by their yellow name tag.
Our team will be happy to help you contact venue security, local law enforcement, local support services, provide escorts, or otherwise assist you to feel safe for the duration of the event.
