A week and a day after the election and there’s still be plenty of speculation about what the results mean to us—the corporate and nonprofit executives, entrepreneurs, and others who comprise Austin’s business community. Candidates at all levels of government made a lot of promises over the course of the campaign. What should we expect from the ones who got elected? What’s the forecast for the near- and long-term future for Central Texas businesses and residents in light of the election results?

About our speaker:

Matt Mackowiak is a political and communications consultant based in Austin and Washington, D.C. He is president of Potomac Strategy Group, LLC, providing political consulting to conservative campaigns and media relations and crisis communications assistance to companies, groups, and individuals. He has served in senior roles for two U.S. Senators, a governor, and in the Bush Administration.
