This week at MBC: our one-of-a-kind weekly breakfast plus a special lunch invitation
How to Have a Safe Hospital Experience
For many people, a visit to the hospital is an anxiety-filled experience. You don’t know what to expect. You don’t know what questions to ask. Hugh Brown can help with that. He’s CEO of one of the rare American hospitals to get an “A” safety rating from the Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit promoting giant leaps forward in the quality and safety of health care. Mr. Brown will share some practical tips on what patients can do to ensure that they have a safe experience in the hospital.
About our speaker: Hugh Brown came to Texas in 2007 to take the reins as CEO of St. David’s Georgetown Hospital. Under his leadership, that hospital has become a nationally recognized leader in patient safety, patient satisfaction, and clinical excellence.
Currently on a national tour speaking to large groups of health care professionals, Mr. Brown is sharing the leadership tactics he credits with transforming the culture of his hospital. By telling his personal story, he hopes to convince other healthcare leaders that they, too, are capable of making a positive difference in their communities.
