Dealing with a Dadless Generation

Fatherlessness and a lack of positive male role models plagues many urban and low income communities. Its impact has been felt in the educational and criminal justice system. Our speaker, Joshua Banks, will discuss some the work being done to reach out to the youth and the fathers and father figures through the I-DADS program, Mastering Manhood Conference, and “The Man in Me” organization.

About our speaker

Joshua Banks currently serves as the I-DADS program coordinator for the Housing Authority of the City of Austin -- a program aimed at reducing fatherlessness and the results caused by absent father figures.

He is also the Director of Public Relations for "The Man in Me," a nonprofit dedicated to educating, strengthening, and supporting men.

In 2017 he cofounded the Mastering Manhood Conference, which reaches out to men ages 16 and up from all demographics and ethnicities. Its purpose is to empower men for personal and professional growth.

A graduate of Rhema Bible College, he is a father, teacher and mentor to many who seek his insight and perspective on practical and spiritual matters. He is the author of the thought-provoking book, "Jesus Others You: The Self-Centered Gospel”. His latest book, "The Doctrine of Synchronization," is scheduled for release later this year.
