The Story of Austin's 1st Public Park

Urban green spaces provide a range of health benefits and have been associated with decreased crime rates, closer-knit communities, and increased property values. As Austin's population continues to grow, parks will play an even more critical role in the daily lives of Austinites. The Pease Park Conservancy is Austin's oldest public park and we'll hear how it's future will impact all of Austin's green spaces.

About Our Speaker:

Heath Riddles has more than 20 years of senior executive leadership, fund development, public relations and communications strategy experience in business sectors such as government, the arts, entertainment and non-profit.

Over the course of his career, he has overseen fundraising efforts in excess of $20,000,000, and has successfully placed editorial coverage for clients with the Los Angeles Times, the Washington Post, the New York Times Magazine, CNN and USA Today, as well as television stations and daily newspapers in all major Texas markets.

Prior to joining Pease Park Conservancy, he was the vice president of fund development and communications at The Hispanic Alliance. Before that, he was a director at Elizabeth Christian Public Relations, after serving as director of marketing and communications at the Long Center for the Performing Arts.
