The People's Court

The Honorable Sylvia Holmes will take us through the Justice of Peace, it's impact on the daily lives of Austinites, and the improvements it's making to to better address Travis County's growing and diverse population.

About Our Speaker:

Judge Holmes is originally from East Texas, but moved to Austin as a teenager to attend Noel Grisham Middle School and Round Rock High School.  She obtained a bachelor’s in marketing at the McCombs School of Business here at UT and a law degree in 2006 from the University of Alabama. Sylvia practiced law for over 12 years before being elected to represent southwest Travis County in 2018.  Sylvia and her husband, Sterling, live near Shady Hollow and enjoy barbecuing, touring new home subdivisions, and talking about going fishing.
