The Future of Classical Music In Austin
Classical music is the root of all musical genres that make Austin what it is today. In 2020, KMFA will move into a new building in East Austin, which will serve as a classical media hub and unite Austinites across all ages, races, and backgrounds.
About Our Speaker:
President and General Manager Ann Hume Wilson is responsible for overall strategic direction and management of KMFA and directs a team of managers responsible for programming, finance, technical operations, fundraising, marketing, and community relations. She has three decades of previous experience at arts institutions in Austin, Atlanta, Boston, Baltimore, and other cities, and holds a master's degree in organizational leadership and ethics from St. Edward's University.
Ann came to Austin as Associate Director and later Interim Director of the Blanton Museum of Art, overseeing the branding, marketing, and administration of the museum. She has been President & General Manager of KMFA Classical 89.5 since 2012 and is currently overseeing a capital campaign for the construction of the station’s new facility in East Austin.
