As Cities continue to evolve they are grappling with the challenge of creating effective regulations for the Innovation Economy. Matt Curtis talks about innovations impacting communities including AirBnB, new micro-mobilities and flying taxis.

About our speaker:

Matt Curtis is the founder of Smart City Policy Group, a team of consultants working with cities across the United States on innovative solutions in the Innovation Economy.

Matt is a former right hand to the last two Austin mayors and he has extensive experience in municipal government and local politics, working on a broad variety of initiatives and best practices in a rapidly changing city. He is a trained facilitator with 15 years of expertise in helping connect potentially conflicting interests to create effective policy.

Most recently, he served as Head of Global Government Affairs and Public Policy for HomeAway/Expedia where he worked with governments, and local communities around the world to create best practices and effective policies. He has served on the United States Conference of Mayors Business Council, the National League of Cities Corporate Council, the Sharing Economy Advisory Network, the Travel Technology Association board and serves on the Short-term Rental Managers Association board.

Matt is a regular presenter at the National Conference of State Legislators, the United States Conference of Mayors, and with travel and government associations around the world.

Our Zoom Meeting fees to cover our admin costs during this time are $5 for members and $10 for visitors. 

When you register, you will be emailed the Zoom login info (which is different for each meeting) and can use your computer, tablet or phone to access. 

You are able to call in without video, but the best way to use Zoom, is to have your camera on and show your face. It will give you the greatest sense of connection and you'll have the best experience with it this way.
