Creativity in Conservation: Making the Case for Creative Reuse

Texans send an unsustainable 37 million tons of waste to the landfill each year. Austin Creative Reuse works to keep Austin’s creative materials out of that statistic by collecting gently used items from individuals and businesses and making them available at its creative reuse center in East Austin.

Jennifer will share how ACR is making the case for rethinking reuse, the benefits of the circular economy and the challenge of making reuse appealing to enough of the population to make a difference, and how we can all play a role in helping Austin meet its ambitious Zero Waste and Climate Impact Goals.
