Can we have Politics without Rage?
At the end of September Brigitte Grumet of the Austin American-Statesman spoke to us about finding common ground. We're following up on that conversation with a group that is actively creating dialog across the political spectrum. What else do we agree about?
Braver Angels is a national organization with a mission to depolarize our political discourse and get those with different political views to see each other as worthy of respect, not as enemies.Braver Angels of Central Texas is the local chapter of Braver Angels. We'll provide background into Braver Angels and explain how you can learn skills to have productive and constructive conversations with those with different political views--maybe some of your family members, friends, or, sadly, former friends.
Programming note: We had originally scheduled Judge Andy Brown this week, but our bylaws prohibit us from having candidates for office with active campaigns to serve as our speaker. We'll invite Judge Brown to come after the election.
