About Our Speaker:

Hi my name is Karen Shives, I am the Secretary with Safe In Austin Rescue Ranch and happen to be the mother of Jamie Wallace-Griner, founder of Safe In Austin.

My husband and I retired 5 years ago and for the first 3 years lived on property so we could help Jamie with the animals, but most importantly to be close to our grandchildren and family.  Because of the need of a Barn we decided to move on to our son’s property which is only a mile and ½ from the Ranch. 

I like to tell people when you book a Tour with a Volunteer and you get me…I am the bonus, as I usually tell stories of “behind the scenes” of how things started.
