West Campus Ambassadors: UT's Contributions to Safety and Hospitality in West Campus
Meredith Pruitt, Associate Vice President of Communications and Engagement at UT Austin, will share details on the West Campus Ambassadors program--a specialized safety, cleaning, and hospitality team established by the University, in collaboration with community and business leaders, dedicated to the revitalization of Austin’s West Campus neighborhood.
About our speaker:
Meredith has 25 years of experience in integrated communications, branding, and marketing, public policy, strategic partnerships, coalition building, and community engagement, serving in senior positions in the government, private, and non-profit sectors.
Pruitt joined UT Austin from the University of North Carolina (UNC), where she served first as Chief of Staff and Senior Vice President to the UNC System President and then as Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at UNC Health/UNC School of Medicine. Prior to UNC, she served as Special Assistant to the President of Davidson College (Davidson, NC).
Pruitt spent the first 15 years of her career in Washington, DC and New York City specializing in branding and marketing, crisis communications, media relations, government affairs, corporate social responsibility, and partnership and coalition building at three global public affairs firms, as a senior adviser to the US Secretary of Education, and as a legislative aide in the US Senate.
Pruitt holds a BA in Political Science and English Literature from St. Michael’s College. A native of Boston, MA, she resides in Austin with her family and enjoys tennis, traveling, and the spirit of Texas.
