Kimberly Wright, Development Director, American Heart Association

About the program and speaker:

Over our 100-year history, the American Heart Association has been fighting heart disease and stroke and helping families and communities thrive. Our mission is to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives. As we move into the second century of our work, we are advancing health and hope for everyone, everywhere.

Go Red for Women® is the American Heart Association’s signature initiative to raise awareness that heart disease is women’s greatest health threat and to empower them to take action to lower their risk. Since 2004, Go Red for Women has had a profound impact on women’s health and continues to be a champion for women.

The price of cardiovascular disease is high and 1 in 3 women will pay that price with their life. Exacerbating this, our youngest most diverse women are the least aware that CVD is the No. 1 killer of women.

Kimberly Wright, Development Director, will discuss women's heart health, the American Heart Association's initiatives through the Go Red for Women campaign, and how you can advocate for and support women's heart health in Austin.
