This panel will be moderated by Lynn Sherman.

Lynn Sherman, Jackson Walker

Lynn Sherman is an attorney who specializes in addressing and resolving complex water-related challenges. Through his diverse roles as a lawyer, a consultant and an executive, he has shaped the landscape of water policy, development, and conservation in Texas. 

Ed McCarthy, McCarthy & McCarthy LLP

Ed McCarthy is an attorney who represents clients, ranging from landowners to governmental entities, in the areas of real property, environmental and administrative law, and government relations with an emphasis on water and water-related matters. He also handles matters involving endangered species, flood plain regulation and land development, surface and groundwater rights, water conservation and reuse, water and air quality, and eminent domain.

Mike Thornhill, CEO Legacy Groundwater, LLC

Mike Thornhill is a hydrogeologist who has worked on numerous high-profile projects throughout Texas, particularly those pertaining to availability, development, and protection of important sources of groundwater. He has headed up many projects within important areas and aquifers targeted for large production and transactions, including Central Texas and the I35 Corridor.

Kevin Critendon, P.E., PNP, Austin Water Assistant Director of Environmental, Planning, and Development Services Program

Kevin Critendon is the Assistant Director of Austin Water and is responsible for its Environmental, Planning and Development Services Program Area. He is the executive sponsor of Austin Water’s Water Forward plan, which is a 100-year Integrated Water Resource Plan with the goal of ensuring a diversified, sustainable and resilient water future.
